iQOO Z9 5G with Dimensity 7200 launching in India on March 12

Update: iQOO has confirmed the launch of the iQOO Z9 5G smartphone in the country on March 12th.

iQOO has started teasing the iQOO Z9 5G, the company’s next Z series phone in India, as the successor to last year’s iQOO Z7. The teaser shows dual rear cameras with OIS for the main camera, and patterns on the back of the green coloured phone.

iQOO has confirmed that this will be the first phone in the segment to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC, and it has posted that the phone has scored 734000 points on AnTuTu 10 benchmark. This is a major upgrade compared to the Dimensity 920 in the iQOO Z7.

The company has also confirmed Sony IMX882 sensor with OIS for the phone, compared to 64MP camera in the Z7. Even the Z7 Pro featured a 64MP sensor, so this is once again an upgrade. The IMX882 is the same sensor used in the realme 12 Pro, which was launched recently. The phone will feature 120Hz OLED screen, 44W fast charging.

The phone showed up on Geekbench listing with the model number I2302 revealing 7200 SoC, Android 14 and 8GB of RAM. Earlier rumours point to a 1.5K OLED display and a 6,000mAh battery.

The phone will be sold on Amazon.in, in addition to iQOO.com. We should know more details about the phone including the launch date in the coming days.
